Kingston for Human Rights, Inc.
The committee was formed in the year 2000, with the sole purpose of raising public awareness of the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948).
Each year, on or close to the 10th December - the anniversary of the declaration - Kingston for Human Rights, Inc. holds a public function with prominent speakers on a topic from the declaration.
We are fortunate to have been supported by the City of Kingston and the local members of Parliament every year.

Every month, except for January, on the first Wednesday at 7:30 pm a meeting is held at the City of Kingston's Mentone Activity Hub.

Screening of the William Kelly documentary, "Can Art Stop a Bullet?" for Kingston's Seniors Festival.
Thursday, 29th October 6-8pm
The first 40 people to register for the event will receive FREE access to the online screening. Please use code KFHR100 at the checkout to receive your free ticket. After the first 40 registrations, the cost per screening is USD $6.99 or approximately AUD $10.
Annual Event & Art Competition
Each year the committee has had speakers from distinguished background who have had the topic which the committee chose, either from a Human Rights perspective, or from an article of the declaration and/or from the United Nations designated year.
In conjunction with the evening the committee has held an Art Competition for either secondary students or Grades 5 & 6 from the Kingston schools and colleges. The Art work was designated to fit in with the chosen topic of the year.
Volunteers are always needed to assist in the production of the annual event.
